- Deoxynivalenol, mice
The toxic impact of deoxynivalenol (DON) were followed in Swiss impubere female mice, weighing 20 g, after intraperitoneal administration of 7.5 mg/kg and 25 mg/kg respectively. The animals were killed at 7 days after administration and at 14 days, respectively. The experiment was meant to following the dynamics in time and dose dependent of DON peritoneally administered of the lesions induced in the main organs. The lesions induced in mice by their intraperitoneal injection of the mycotoxin with the lapse of 7 days, are of aiterative type, displaying* noticeable images of regeneration at 14 days. The lesions in the digestive tract and those in the liver induce malnutrition/malabsorption and retarded growth. There are to be noticed the extremely severe structural alterations in the lympho - and haematopoetic organs, mostly in bone marrow, but also in the spieen and in the lymphonodules, too. We have also noticed alterations in the nervous substance of the hemispheres as spongiosis; also, the presence of lymphogranulocytes and apoptotic bodies.
